CBD oil Dosage Calculator“I wish I had a CBD oil Dosage Calculator” – is what we hear a lot. We’d simply like to know how many drops we need to take.

Unsurprisingly, not all CBD oil products have the same potency. With the various strengths and package indications, it can become very confusing, even for math talents.

To be consistent, we only indicate the dosage in milligrams which is used by all CBD products.

Besides that, the market is flooded with CBD scams and low-quality products. Easily avoid them by following our up-to-date Fake CBD Checklist.

With our 25% off automatically applied on orders over $150, CBDistillery 5000mg tincture has one of the lowest prices per mg CBD.

CBD % to mg

Oil with 5% CBD in a 10 ml bottle: How many milligrams CBD are in 1 milliliter CBD oil?

1 milliliter = 1 gram = 1000 milligrams of CBD oil.

5% of 1000 milligrams = 0,05 times 1000 = 50 mg of CBD.

A 10 ml bottle contains: 10 times 50 = 500 mg CBD.

How many mg in a drop of CBD oil?

The amount of milligram in a drop CBD oil depends on the CBD product you use. There are all kinds of CBD products available.

To avoid miscalculating your daily CBD dosage, we have created two calculators.

If your package or CBD bottle indicates the amount of CBD in milligrams, you only need the iDWeeds Drops Calculator.

Often, CBD packaging is without a milligram indication and only shows a potency percentage (% CBD). Therefore, you first need to convert to milligrams, using the iDWeeds % to mg Calculator. Then calculate the number of drops with the drops calculator.

Factors that influence your CBD dosage

The serving size depends on many factors, such as full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and CBD isolates. Full-spectrum CBD is more likely to give you the desired effect as Cannabidiol (CBD) is more productive with the other naturally present cannabinoids in the hemp plant, like (CBN, CBG, CBC, THC, etc.).

But what is CBN, the cannabinoid that we increasingly hear about, exactly?

In our Health section we go in-depth per condition with clear-cut scientific research and anecdotal evidence.

You should consider Potential side-effects and body weight when taking CBD oil. Using CBD with other drugs is not recommended.

The top menu lists almost all medical conditions for which we have studied the CBD interaction. Hence, you can find the recommended serving size for each of these conditions in the relevant articles. If you are treating cancer with cannabis oil, follow the procedures on that page.CBD oil dropper

How much CBD to take

A daily dosage of  20 mg of cannabidiol, three times a day (for example, 7 mg in the morning, 7 mg in the afternoon, and 7 mg in the evening) is typical to maintain your health. Take advantage of CBDs health benefits and treat minor pains and or other medical complaints.

However, the more serious your condition is, the larger the dosage needs to be, and the longer you need to take it.

The steps to properly dose CBD:

  • Start with 20 mg a day.CBD oil dosage
  • If you notice the desired effect, continue this dosage.
  • No desired effect? Double the dosage
  • Got the desired effect? Continue this dosage until symptoms are relieved.
  • Not the desired result? Again, double the dosage, and so on…

Did you know that never in the thousands of years of cannabis use, there has ever been recorded a single death related to cannabis use?

Moreover, everyone reacts differently to cannabidiol. You need to figure out your optimal dosage by gently increasing it with 5 mg increments. People with severe migraines, for example, have reported complete relief of their headaches by regularly taking 40-50 mg per day.

Can I overdose on CBD?

“A lethal cannabis (THC) overdose is impossible because cannabinoid receptors, unlike opioid receptors, are not located in the brainstem areas controlling breathing.” – National Cancer Institute (1)

Of course, the same is true for CBD hemp with the significant difference of CBD not getting you high, thus not impairing your behavior.

So the answer is, no, you can’t overdose on CBD as it’s non-toxic and doesn’t negatively impact your organs, even with extreme doses.

How long does it take for CBD to work?

How long does it take for CBD to work?

The time it takes before CBD starts working depends on many factors, like your body/metabolism, the consumption method, and the strength/potency of the CBD dosage. Everyone knows that we are all different and react differently to medication, supplements, etc., and this a parameter that we cannot influence anyway.

The potency of the CBD dosage mainly influences the strength of the effects but also has a slight impact on the time it takes to feel the effects. The stronger your dosage, the quicker the results appear.

Depends on the consumption method

However, the CBD consumption method determines how soon you will feel the effects of cannabidiol. And, yes, the effects of hemp gummies are just the same as with other CBD products that go through your digestive system. The time the CBD starts taking effect takes a little longer, but it lasts a long time, like eight hours or so.

The quickest effects you can achieve with vaping. You can vape E-liquids and dry-herps, bud you need different vaporizers for them. Click the link to read where you can buy CBD flowers.  One of the great names in the market focussed on vaping fluids is CBD Drip.

Sublingual, Oral, and Vape Bioavailability

  • Vaping / Smoking

The quickest effect of cannabidiol is reached by vaping or smoking.

Within a couple of minutes, you will be able to feel the effects already, which can last for a couple of hours. Besides that, the amount of CBD absorbed by your body (Bioavailability) goes up to 56% – higher than sublingual consumption.

  • Sublingual

This consumption method takes longer to kick in than vaping, while the body absorption (Bioavailability) is at 35%, significantly less.

You will feel the effects in about 2 to 30 minutes and they last a little longer than when vaping, approximately 4 to 6 hours.

  • Oral

Taking cannabidiol through your digestive system, like edibles, CBD pills, CBD water, etc. will give you the slowest effect lead time and the lowest body absorption at 10%-15%.

In general, you would feel the effects only in one hour after taking your dosage which will last for minimum 4 hours.

By taking CBD on an empty stomach you can decrease the effect time to perhaps 20 minutes if you have a healthy metabolism.

Health benefits of CBD calculator

People commonly want to know the CBD dosage for pain, while for severe chronic pain, it’s probably best to add some THC in the mix. However, opposite to that, when dosing CBD for anxiety, no THC is needed. The same can be said for the CBD depression dosage as it’s linked with anxiety.

Because everyone is different, you will have to find the proper CBD dose that works for you. It’s much appreciated when you share the treatment and method of CBD usage that works for you in the relevant medical condition articles.

For example, few people know that the CBD gummies’ effects are just the same as with oils and tinctures. They are also convenient to calculate your daily dosage. The gummy packages always indicate how many milligrams of CBD there are per gummy.

Use our CBD mg calculator or,

1) Determine how much mg of CBD is appropriate for your health condition. (Indications in our health articles)

2) Calculate the amount of mg per mL in your bottle: Divide the total amount of mg CBD in your bottle by the number of mL in a bottle.

3) Calculate the mg amount per drop: Divide the amount of mg per mL (from point 2) by 20 (the number of drops per mL)

4) Calculate how many drops of CBD you need: divide your desired CBD dosage in mg (from point 1) by the amount of mg per drop (from point 3)

Your weight plays a minor role with CBD dosage. Small children and pets need less. We prefer the rule, generally start low (25mg per day) and increase until you notice results. As everyone reacts to CBD differently for a range of ailments, our health conditions section provides dosage indications per condition.

This depends on 2 things:

1) The strength of your CBD

2) Your daily dosage

Let’s assume your bottle contains 3000 mg of CBD and you take 30 mg daily. Your bottle will last you for 3000/30= 100 days

Yes, but not before keeping the drops under your tongue for at least a minute. The area under your tongue provides better absorption and when you keep the drops in your mouth longer, it may not itch your throat.

Potency is usually indicated on the tincture bottle in mg CBD. If CBD % is indicated on the tincture bottle, use our CBD % to mg calculator to get the CBD potency in milligrams.

You cannot overdose on cannabidiol. Even with massive amounts of CBD people have shown no harmful side effects. You might feel a little drowsy because of the lower blood pressure, and as such its not recommended to mix with other drugs/meds.

Dropper size:

  • 1 oz (30 mL) bottle: 20 drops (1 mL)
  • 2 oz (60 mL) bottle: 30 drops (1.5 mL)

1) Amount of mg per 1 mL dropper: Divide the total amount of mg CBD in your bottle by the number of mL in your bottle.

2) Amount of mg per 1.5 mL dropper: multiply this by 1.5
